In the ecological dimension of Larga Sustainable Zarraga, the core sub-program is HOME, or Holistic Manifestation of Ecosystems. “Home” is an important identity context for most Filipinos. The acronym “HOME” reminds all that home is not just the physical structure where one lives. Home is also where the life supporting processes of Nature are supported and nurtured. This larger whole, this larger home is also the basis of the economy. After all, the word economics and ecology come from the same root word in Greek, “oikos” , meaning the household.
The objective of the Holistic Manifestation of Ecosystems (HOME) Sub-Program is to develop a deeper awareness and appreciation of the deep wisdom in Nature and the profound value of respectful and mutually beneficial partnership between humans and Nature.
