The Green Guardians in Action!

In the latter half of September, our team doubled down on their mission, diving into environmental awareness activities with partner schools and communities. Inspired by Greta Thunberg’s powerful rallying cry—“Change has come” and “The future is in our hands”—teachers and students rolled up their sleeves to make a difference. Together, they proved that even the smallest acts of care can ripple into big changes for our planet.

Youth Rising for the Planet!

On September 18, 2019, Culasi National High School set the wheels in motion for a plastic use policy (check out Environmental Governance on the Go), while Pedada Elementary School revamped its Earth Stewards to welcome a new generation of eco-champions. Fast forward to September 27, 2019, and Pedada Elementary took it up a notch with their Zero Waste Management Symposium—proving once again that when it comes to saving the planet, age is just a number!

Zero Waste, Full Impact!

On September 20, 2019, Punta Buri Elementary School went all in for the planet with a Zero Waste Management Symposium and a coastline clean-up drive. With around 150 eco-enthusiasts—parents, teachers, barangay officials, volunteers, and students—joining forces, the day was a tidal wave of action and inspiration. Together, they proved that teamwork makes the dream of a cleaner, greener future work!

Camp Earth Heroes Unite!

From September 25-27, 2019, Culasi National High School hosted its Environmental Science Camp, turning students into eco-warriors! The action-packed event featured Malunggay, Tanglad, fruit-bearing tree, and mangrove planting, a Zero Waste Management Symposium, and a spirited Clean-Up Drive. It was three days of green-thumb action and planet-loving passion, proving that every small act can sprout big change!

Planting Roots for the Future!


On September 29, 2019, Brgy. Salacay, Cabatuan held its first-ever Environmental Forum, drawing a vibrant crowd of 120 participants, including students and teachers from Salacay Elementary School, volunteers, barangay council members, and SK leaders from neighboring barangays.

The day kicked off with a Tree Growing activity, where participants planted seedlings along a riverbank designated by the barangay council. Adding a visionary touch, Hon. Ma Lida Libiano, Punong Barangay of Salacay, announced that this budding green space would soon bloom into the community’s very own Eco Park. Talk about planting dreams along with trees!

On September 29, 2019, Brgy. Salacay, Cabatuan hosted its first-ever Environmental Forum, uniting around 120 enthusiastic participants—students and teachers from Salacay Elementary School, barangay council members, SK leaders from nearby barangays, and dedicated volunteers.

The day began with a Tree Growing activity, where participants lovingly planted seedlings along the riverbank—a site chosen by the barangay council. To top it off, Hon. Ma Lida Libiano, Punong Barangay of Salacay, unveiled exciting news: this Tree Growing site is set to bloom into the barangay’s very own Eco Park!

Resource Speaker Hermogenes Gacho, a Climate Reality Leader, captivated the audience with his powerful insights on Climate Change and the role of Climate Leadership in shaping a sustainable future. His words sparked action, proving that knowledge truly is the first step toward change!
