Two days, countless ideas, and one big leap forward—that’s the story of the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Workshop held last November 18–19, 2025 in Barangay General Delgado. It wasn’t just a workshop; it was a beautiful blend of community spirit, honest reflection, and hopeful planning. Daw fiesta sang mga ideya—pero mas organized kag may purpose.

From the very start, participants rolled up their sleeves and dove into enhancing their Vision and Mission Statements, guided by the seven dimensions of barangay development. And yes—may mga “Aha!”, “Ay amo gali na!”, and even “Pwede man gali ni!” moments that made the sessions both enlightening and fun.

What made the entire experience truly meaningful was how the AI process opened doors to deeper understanding.
Because really—“When we focus on what works, we discover what’s possible.”

Through this lens, participants didn’t just see challenges; they saw strengths. They didn’t just talk about problems; they uncovered opportunities. What used to look like limitations suddenly felt like building blocks for a better, stronger barangay.

And let’s be honest—they enjoyed the sessions (promise, indi sila ginpamahaw lang). Many expressed heartfelt gratitude to SEA for facilitating the activity—guiding them with clarity and weaving the seven dimensions into a roadmap they could genuinely claim as their own. These dimensions helped them identify areas that needed boosting and refine a Vision and Mission that truly reflects who they are and who they aspire to become.

Was the planning process easy?

Hindi.

Was it worth it?

Absolutely.

As one participant beautifully put it:
“Growth begins at the edge of our comfort zone.”

By the end of Day 2, the community saw gaps they never noticed before, recognized opportunities they didn’t realize they had, and crafted strategic directions that could move Barangay General Delgado closer to progress—one dimension at a time.

In the words of the participants themselves:
“Kung may unity kag may klaro nga plano—may padulungan gid.”

And that, right there, is the heart of Appreciative Inquiry.
“We grow when we build on our strengths and dream together.”

So here’s to Barangay General Delgado—stronger in vision, clearer in mission, and braver in shaping a future grounded in hope, collaboration, and collective action.
