For Kristin Joyce Muyana, the Inner Conditioning Workshop (ICW) provided a glimpse into the power of self-awareness and the mind-body connection, even though she was unable to attend the later sessions due to illness. While her time in the workshop was cut short, the insights she gained during the introductory sessions left a lasting impression. “Though I missed out on the full experience, the initial concepts of self-awareness and understanding the connection between mind and body resonated deeply with me,” Kristin shares.
Her experience of physical illness during the workshop became an unintentional yet powerful lesson in how discomfort can amplify negative thought patterns and emotional responses. “It was a firsthand example of the principles being taught,” she reflects. As she navigated her discomfort, she found that the workshop’s focus on mindfulness and self-compassion became more meaningful. “It highlighted the importance of self-compassion, especially in times of physical or emotional distress,” Kristin notes. The experience reminded her that being kind to herself in moments of vulnerability was just as crucial as embracing the positive, and the workshop’s concepts gave her the language and tools to do so.
Despite missing the latter sessions, Kristin views the limited time she spent in the workshop as a valuable foundation to build upon. “It gave me a renewed focus on integrating these principles into my daily life,” she says. Kristin’s journey reflects how even brief exposure to the concepts of self-awareness and emotional resilience can have a lasting impact, creating a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection.
This understanding has since been woven into the broader philosophy of SEA Inc.’s IPAT-SIAD program. By embracing the principles of mindfulness, self-compassion, and acceptance, Kristin not only applies these concepts in her personal life but also carries them forward as part of the program’s operating system, helping to inspire others to cultivate a balanced and compassionate approach to their own journeys of self-growth and transformation.
