This week, the Inner Conditioning Workshop (ICW) in New Lucena unveiled the profound inner journeys of its participants. Their reflections, a blend of personal struggles and unwavering faith, illuminated the transformative power of ICW, showcasing its impact on both their personal lives and their roles within the community.
Secretary Roselle, receiving a valuable livelihood opportunity, faced the common challenge of funding her children’s education. “Through the ICW, I’ve learned the importance of placing God at the center of everything,” she affirmed. Her message: “No matter the circumstances, I strive to always put my faith and trust in Him.”
Kagawad Azucena found solace in gratitude and mindfulness. “The more we allow stress to consume us, the more it impacts our well-being,” she observed. Her wisdom: “Don’t dwell on the past; live fully in the present, appreciating every opportunity.”
Ma’am Divina emphasized the strength of family and the beauty of simple blessings. “May we all find peace and joy in life’s simple gifts,” she shared. Her perspective: “I continually remind myself to cherish all blessings, big and small, and strive to remain grateful in every moment.”
Secretary Kath, burdened by financial pressures, held steadfast to her faith. “While the situation is difficult, I trust that with patience, wisdom, and perseverance, I’ll find a way to support my children’s education,” she declared. Her conviction: “Even in these trying times, there is a way forward.”
Aida discovered the liberating power of forgiveness. “Forgiving someone who hurt, lied, devalued, and overlooked me wasn’t easy, but letting go freed me from their influence,” she reflected. Her insight: “Forgiveness is a divine command.”
Lejanie found strength in silence. “Silence is the best way to end an argument, and it doesn’t mean you’ve lost,” she noted. Her understanding: “Silence is a powerful resolution.”
Kap Alex, navigating community challenges, affirmed his commitment to his constituents. “My stance for the people of Janipaan has been a challenge. Some questions, but for me, whatever decisions I make with my council are truly for the betterment of the barangay and the residents of Janipaan.” His dedication: “My decisions, made with my council, are always for the betterment of the barangay and its people.”
Kagawad Paz acknowledged the weight of her dual responsibilities. “The days with responsibilities in the barangay and at home have probably been a challenge. It can be faced calmly; the important thing is not to pressure or stress yourself.” Her approach: “Face responsibilities calmly, avoid pressure and stress.”
Kagawad Jen grappled with time management amidst complex family commitments. “How to manage time with responsibilities. Since my husband is in Manila, the schedule is quite difficult because I have a duty in the barangay, then there is a schedule for my child’s weekly therapy in the other town, and I also have one left here who is studying. But so far, I’m managing. Difficult, but the mind should always be calm to think clearly and make good decisions.” Her strategy: “Manage time with a calm mind to think clearly and make good decisions.”
These heartfelt reflections reveal the profound impact of ICW. The workshop fostered resilience, nurtured faith, and cultivated a deeper understanding of self and community. Whether barangay officials or community members, participants emerged with a renewed sense of purpose and a treasure trove of hard-earned wisdom.
