On September 5, 2014, Zarraga became the bustling hub of insight, collaboration, and innovation during the SIAD Exchange event. The gathering was an impressive showcase of threefolding participation—where the government, civil society organizations (CSOs), and businesses came together to share knowledge and foster partnerships.

The event saw the convergence of key figures such as Zarraga Mayor Tarrosa, San Enrique Mayor Ramona Go, and Iloilo City Councilor Jason Gonzales, along with representatives from MISSION—an organization with representatives from cities like Baguio, Manila, Laguna, Naga, Cebu, Davao, and Capiz. The diversity in attendance set the stage for a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences surrounding the Sustainable Integrated Area Development (SIAD) program.

The SIAD Exchange wasn’t just a talkfest—it was an opportunity for everyone in the room to explore practical, community-driven solutions that could be replicated across regions. With representatives from various sectors, the event opened up rich discussions on how SIAD initiatives could be further enhanced, empowering local governments and their partners to work more effectively and sustainably.

From the business world to local government units, the exchange highlighted the importance of collaboration and synergy. It was clear that the key to sustainable development lies in strong partnerships across all sectors—where knowledge and resources flow seamlessly, creating ripple effects of positive change.

As the day wrapped up, the buzz was palpable, with new ideas in the air and lasting connections made. The SIAD Exchange proved that when we come together, regardless of sector or region, the possibilities for growth and progress are endless. Here’s to building bridges, sharing wisdom, and working together for a more sustainable future!
