As part of the ongoing Inner Conditioning Workshop (ICW), the Local Government Unit (LGU) employees of New Lucena have been sharing their weekly reflections, offering a glimpse into their personal and professional journeys. Through self-reflection, mindfulness, and open dialogue, they are gradually discovering valuable lessons that help them tackle challenges, both at work and in their daily lives. Below are some of their most recent insights, rich with wisdom, growth, and humor.

Victoria, for instance, reflected on a week filled with challenges. After dealing with the need for an anti-rabies shot and managing complaints from a constituent, she found herself in a tricky situation. However, through a good conversation with the complainant, she was able to resolve the issue. “I accepted my mistakes and apologized,” she shared. “Nobody’s perfect, right?” Through dialogue and acknowledging her shortcomings, they came to a mutual understanding.

Victoria’s experience serves as a reminder that mistakes are part of life, but it’s how we handle them that truly defines us. Her willingness to accept responsibility and engage in open communication highlights the power of humility in resolving conflicts. Even in a tough week, growth was the outcome.

For Cleo, the workshop brought clarity to the value of patience. “Don’t be anxious about delays,” she mused. “Instead, wait patiently—everything happens in its own time.” Her reflection echoes a powerful life lesson: not everything moves according to our plans, but trust and patience are key to navigating life’s uncertainties. Cleo’s calm approach reminds us that the best things often come to those who wait.

Engr. Sudayan offered a practical perspective on how the workshop has impacted his work. He noted that the sessions helped him focus better and manage his daily tasks more efficiently. “It has enhanced my decision-making when facing problems and challenges,” he explained. Not only that, but the workshop also made him more sociable with his colleagues.

Sudayan’s reflection underscores how mindfulness and focus can improve both productivity and workplace relationships. His experience is a testament to the power of being present and intentional in every task—a lesson that benefits everyone in a professional setting.

Elbert, meanwhile, took a step back to reflect on the changes in nature and agriculture over the years. “Back in the day, life was simpler,” he noted. “People didn’t stress about fertilizers or pesticides—planting squash was easy! Now, we rely on commercial fertilizers and pesticides, and life feels harder.” He compared how people once lived well past 100 years, thanks to natural, chemical-free food.

Elbert’s reflection draws attention to the stark contrast between traditional and modern agriculture. His insights remind us of the cost of convenience and how we have moved away from sustainable, natural practices. His words remind us of the wisdom that once came from living closer to nature.

These reflections from the ICW participants reveal that while growth can be challenging, it is ultimately rewarding. Whether through patience, dialogue, or focusing on what truly matters, the employees of New Lucena are learning to navigate life’s obstacles with resilience and grace.
