Amid the busy hustle leading to Christmas, New Lucena educators took a moment for themselves at the Inner Conditioning Workshop on December 20, 2023, held at Baganihan Hall. With 20 participants, including teachers, barangay officials, and SEA Inc. staff, the session highlighted the importance of mental and emotional well-being in our fast-paced world.
The workshop served as a safe space for self-discovery and personal growth, focusing on the impact of stress and how to manage it. Facilitator Ms. Flora explained the difference between eustress—stress that motivates you toward your goals—and distress, which stems from worrying about things that haven’t happened yet. She pointed out that stressors like heavy workloads, family issues, and workplace culture are especially common today, particularly among workers.
New Lucena educators took a moment for self-care at the Inner Conditioning Workshop on December 20, 2023, at Baganihan Hall. With 20 participants, including teachers, barangay officials, and SEA Inc. staff, the session emphasized the importance of mental and emotional well-being.
One key takeaway? Rest is essential. Ms. Flora emphasized that no one dies from missing a deadline, but many suffer health complications from neglecting rest in the pursuit of unrealistic goals.
Inner conditioning is about breaking free from negative thought patterns and embracing personal transformation. This workshop gave participants the tools to reflect, challenge self-limiting beliefs, and develop new, healthier perspectives. The collective output showed that community roles, family health, financial struggles, and work pressures are significant stressors, but practices like centering, coffee time for reflection, and prayer helped them cope.
The workshop concluded with a poignant reminder: “God will never put us in a situation without giving us the wisdom to survive.” The session left participants with valuable tips for managing stress and a renewed sense of emotional and spiritual strength as they look forward to the new year.
