During the session a workshop was facilitated and discussed the greatest stressors of individual and their best practices to overcome, address the challenges/stressor they encountered. The participants presented their collective output. They shared that their greatest stressors are related to their community role, managing conflicts, family and personal health matters, trauma about CoVid Vaccine, financial, co-workers and workloads. They said because of these stressors they are psycho-emotionally burdened. To cope those challenges/stressors they shared that they practiced “Centering” to have peace of mind, unload other engagements, coffeetime to reflect, think, analyze the situation, and most of all PRAYER or surrendering everything to GOD. Prayer and acceptance to the will of God is the best option instead of carrying and thinking all the problems. Sharing with friends or to somebody close to them is also a relief when they were stressed.

After which the teacher facilitator commends the participants for being honest about their struggles and feelings.  Ms. Flora explained the two kinds of stress, the “Eustress and the Distress.  The eustress means that you are stressing or motivating yourself to achieve a goal or something that is very important to you. While Distress is worrying or anticipating worst case scenario which is not happening yet, although both are classification of stress, but they differ in terms of effect.  As she continue discussing, she elaborates the causes of stress which are; the  heavy work load, high performance  demand, bad boss, workplace culture, personal or family problems, and technical issue. All of the causes mentioned are very eminent in this days especially to the people who are in the Working level. Then she gave the tips on how to manage stress. One of which is take time to rest, because according to her nobody has ever died by not being able to catch-up the deadline, but a lot has died due to health complications because we compromise our health by worrying how to chase the never-ending deadlines that can’t even help us during hospitalization. With that note she strongly emphasizes the importance of “rest”.

She then proceeds on showing a picture and asked the participants about their reflection of the picture shown (a papaya productively grown on the wall). Most of the reflections says about thriving despite of adversities which is very insightful observation according to her, and ended her discussion with a beautiful quote that says; “God will never put us in a situation without giving us the wisdom to survive”. Indeed, the workshop gives the participants something to reflect on the upcoming New Year and provided them the tips on managing stressors they currently encountered. The session was likewise an opportunity to bring up or share their personal emotional baggage’s. With this, they are somehow relieved, revived and strong, psycho-emotionally and spiritually.
