In the sweltering embrace of the sun, a new dawn of empowerment emerged in Brgy. Calumbuyan, New Lucena. On this blazing day, the Solution Ecosystems Activator (SEA), Inc. orchestrated a remarkable gathering, bringing together the diverse women of Calumbuyan to forge a path toward collective strength and opportunity. Among the attendees were solo parents, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, housewives, and barangay elected officials—all ready to make their mark on the community.
The meeting wasn’t just a chance to escape the sun’s relentless rays; it was a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of unity. The primary agenda was to underscore the significance of forming an organized group that could amplify their voices and address their unique concerns at both the barangay and municipal levels. This new organization would ensure that the women’s sector would finally have a seat at the table in the Barangay Development Council.
The day was not just about structure and strategy but also about vision and innovation. The CWA brainstormed various ideas for income-generating programs, with hydroponic gardening emerging as a promising venture. Members expressed enthusiasm for learning more about this sustainable practice and eagerly committed to future orientations and activities centered on this initiative. The prospect of growing their produce and potentially transforming it into a viable business was met with excitement and optimism.
Ma’am Laura, a senior citizen and one of the founding members, encapsulated the spirit of the day with her heartfelt reflection: “This is not just an organization; it’s a movement. We are here to support each other, to learn, and to grow together. I’m excited about the opportunities we’re creating for ourselves and for future generations.”
Similarly, Ma’am Julia, a solo parent and new CWA member, shared her enthusiasm: “The CWA is a dream come true. For so long, we’ve felt unheard. Now, we have a platform to voice our needs and work towards a brighter future. I’m particularly thrilled about the hydroponic gardening project. It’s a chance for us to become self-reliant and make a real difference.”
Future Plans: Sowing Seeds of Success
With the CWA firmly established, the future holds exciting prospects. Plans are underway to initiate the hydroponic gardening program, which will not only provide a source of income but also foster skills development and community engagement. The association is committed to hosting workshops and training sessions to build expertise in this innovative farming technique.
Moreover, the CWA aims to strengthen its presence in local governance by actively participating in the Barangay Development Council. This involvement will ensure that the needs and concerns of the women’s sector are consistently represented and addressed.
