WHAT IS IPAT-SIAD?
Imagine a governance model where the real decision-makers aren’t just at the top, but right in your backyard—this is the heart of IPAT-SIAD! It’s a dynamic approach that blends participatory local governance with Sustainable Integrated Area Development (SIAD), ensuring that everyone from local executives to community champions gets a say in shaping their future. Think of it as a crash course in teamwork, where local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and businesses join forces to tackle poverty and push sustainable development plans.
Currently in its third year with New Lucena LGU, IPAT-SIAD is expanding its reach to six more barangays, and even spreading its wings to neighboring Sta. Barbara and beyond to Mindanao and Luzon. It’s about identifying leaders, empowering the community, and driving them to actively participate in their own development—because who knows what’s needed better than the people themselves?
The best part? It’s not just a one-time thing. Through SEA Inc.’s Sustaining the Gains Framework, the program ensures long-term impact by engaging everyone in planning, implementing, and monitoring development projects, with sectoral groups playing key roles in ensuring accountability and transparency in governance. In a nutshell, IPAT-SIAD is about turning local dreams into practical, community-driven realities—one barangay at a time!
